Import RTS shows into Theater for WordPress

In this guide, you will connect your WordPress website to RTS. Next, you will sync your shows with the Theater for WordPress plugin. When completed, you will have a website for your location with an always up-to-date overview of your shows, including showtimes and on-line ticket sales.

Prerequisites

  1. Make sure you have a working WordPress website.
  2. Have your Theater RTN Number ready. This number is provided to you by RTS.

Step 1 – Install Jeero

  1. Go to Plugins → Add new in the WordPress admin.
  2. Look for ‘jeero’.

  3. Install and activate the Jeero plugin.

You now have a new Jeero menu-item in the WordPress admin.

Step 2 – Install Theater for WordPress

  1. Go to PluginsAdd new in the WordPress admin.
  2. Look for ‘theater for wordpress’.
  3. Install and activate Theater for WordPress plugin.

You now have a new Theater menu-item in the WordPress admin:

Step 3 – Start the sync

  1. Go to Jeero in the WordPress admin.
  2. Click on ‘Start new sync’
  3. Select RTS in the Ticketing solution field.
  4. Select Theater for WordPress in the Calendar plugin field.
  5. Click on Save Changes.
  6. Enter your RTN number.

  7. Click on Save Changes.

The sync is now active. Your shows will be visible in Theater for WordPress within 5 minutes:

Step 4 – Show your events on your website

You can show your upcoming shows on a page.

  1. Go to Pages → Add new.
  2. Give your page a title (eg. ‘Upcoming events’).
  3. Click on Publish.
  4. Go to Theater → Settings → Display.
  5. Set Page to show upcoming events on to the page that you just created.
  6. Set Position on page to show above content.
  7. Click on Save Changes.
  8. Go to Theater → Settings → Style.
  9. Check Enable built-in Theater stylesheet.
  10. Click on Save Changes.
