Import Chaplin films into Theater for WordPress

Chaplin by Nutid AB is a ticketing solution for Swedish cinemas.

Theater for WordPress is a plugin to manage and publish events for your theater, live venue, cinema, club or festival.

In this guide, you will connect your WordPress website to Chaplin. Next, you will sync your films with the Theater for WordPress plugin. When completed, you will have a website for your organisation with an always up-to-date overview of your films, including full descriptions, categories and prices.

Prerequisites

  1. Make sure you have a working WordPress website.
  2. Ask you Chaplin contact for your Chaplin API base URL.

  3. Ask Chaplin to whitelist Jeero’s IP address: 54.228.32.150.

Step 1 – Install Theater for WordPress

  1. Go to PluginsAdd new in the WordPress admin.
  2. Look for ‘theater for wordpress’.
  3. Install and activate Theater for WordPress plugin.

You now have a new Theater menu-item in the WordPress admin:

Step 2 – Install Jeero

  1. Go to Plugins → Add new in the WordPress admin.
  2. Look for ‘jeero’.

  3. Install and activate the Jeero plugin.

Step 3 – Start the sync

Chaplin imports to Theater for WordPress are currently only available upon request. Please contact me for further instruction.

Step 4 – Show your events on your website

You can show your upcoming films on a page.

  1. Go to Pages → Add new.
  2. Give your page a title (eg. ‘Upcoming events’).
  3. Click on Publish.
  4. Go to Theater → Settings → Display.
  5. Set Page to show upcoming events on to the page that you just created.
  6. Set Position on page to show above content.
  7. Click on Save Changes.
  8. Go to Theater → Settings → Style.
  9. Check Enable built-in Theater stylesheet.
  10. Click on Save Changes.

Step 5 – Choose the right plan
