Import BravoBase performances into Sugar Calendar

In this guide, you will connect your WordPress website to BravoBase. Next, you will sync your performances with the Sugar Calendar plugin. When completed, you will have a website for your organisation with an always up-to-date overview of your performances, including full descriptions, featured images and prices.

Prerequisites

  1. Make sure you have a working WordPress website.
  2. Create an API Key using the BravoBase APIAPI Settings menu option in your BravoBase account. You can use the following settings:

  3. After clicking on Add User you see the screen with your API Key on it.

  4. Derive your BravoBase skin ID from the URL of your BravoBase website.

    If https://us.patronbase.com/_mytheatre/Productions is the URL of your BravoBase website, then ‘_mytheatre’ is your skin ID.

Step 1 – Install Sugar Calendar

  1. Go to PluginsAdd new in the WordPress admin.
  2. Look for ‘sugar calendar’.

  3. Install and activate Sugar Calendar plugin.

You now have a new Calendar menu-item in the WordPress admin:

Step 2 – Install Jeero

  1. Go to Plugins → Add new in the WordPress admin.
  2. Look for ‘jeero’.

  3. Install and activate the Jeero plugin.

Step 3 – Start the sync

  1. Go to Jeero in the WordPress admin.
  2. Select BravoBase in the Ticketing solution field:

  3. Click on Save Changes.

  4. Enter your BravoBase API Key and skin ID:

  5. Click on Save Changes.

  6. Click on the Sugar Calendar tab.

  7. Tick the Enable Sugar Calendar import checkbox:

  8. Click on Save Changes.

The sync is now active. Your performances will be visible in Sugar Calendar within 5 minutes:

Step 4 – Show your events on your website

  1. Display a calendar on any page with the [sc_events_calendar] shortcode.
  2. View the archive of events at yoursite.com/events.

Clicking on the tickets link automatically leads visitors to the corresponding BravoBase ticketing page:

Step 5 – Choose the right plan

The free plan for Jeero lets you sync up to 10 upcoming performances at any given time. Perfect for small organisations and testing purposes.
